Shelley and Andrew’s Deep South Honeymoon Adventure
We leave for Miami the day after the wedding, on 31 July. Our first night will be at the Mandarin Oriental hotel, after which we pick up our car for the remainder of the road trip.
From Miami, we drive north to Orlando, where we’ll be based for about a week, giving us plenty of time to visit the many local attractions, including (bits of) Disneyworld and the Kennedy Space Center. We then drive out of Florida, through the panhandle, to Lousiana and New Orleans, staying at the Ritz Carlton in the heart of the Big Easy.
After staying a few days in New Orleans, we head north again through Mississippi, to Memphis (making sure to visit Graceland), and stop at Nashville en route to Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee.
We then begin the journey back south, travelling through the Smoky Mountains, stopping at Atlanta (for the World of Coca-Cola) and Savannah, Georgia. We finish the road trip with a journey down the Florida Keys, to the southernmost point of the United States, before flying home from Miami on 21 August.
