Helping Hand Free

Wedding planning taking its toll? Haven’t seen your partner in weeks? Can’t face swallowing a guide book? Then let us help!

We’ve had thousands of couples using our service, who’ve had amazing honeymoons to the four corners of the globe — so we’re very likely to be able to find another registry that covers your honeymoon destination. With our Helping Hand service, we’ll track down, copy over and depersonalise all the items from the very best of these registries to yours.

We’ll aim to have our suggestions ready for you within a couple of days. You’ll then be able to edit or remove any items yourself as you see fit.

To set this up, just let us know where you’re heading and we’ll take care of the rest!

Customise your wedding registry’s web address Free

When you sign up for your free trial, you can choose from a selection of URL domains for your list. The rest of the web address is then created automatically from your surnames. If you’d like to customise this to something more personal, we can arrange this for you.

For example, instead of honeymoonpromises.com/smith.jones.16 you could have honeymoonpromises.com/danielandkate. To set this up, just contact us to let us know what you’d prefer for your own registry.

Set up a release date for your registry pages Free

If you need some time to build your registry and don’t want your guests sneaking a peek too early, we can set up a release date for you. Just let us know the date you want your registry to become available!

Add a password to your registry Free

If you’d like to add an extra level of privacy, you can ask your guests to type in a password on your introduction page to access your registry. This can be useful if you want to add payment instructions that you’d like to keep private. Just let us know the password you’d like to use.

Hide your pages from Google Free

Many wedding guests expect to be able to get to a couple’s wedding registry by entering its web address into their favourite search engine. For lots of people, Google is the Internet, and if your registry isn’t listed there, they’ll be concerned that it doesn’t exist at all.

So we allow Google access to the introductory page of each registry, while still blocking access to subsequent pages.

But we understand that this won’t be appropriate for everyone. If you’d prefer that your pages are kept strictly and completely private, just let us know and we’ll make sure they don’t directly appear in search results.

Add a link back to your wedding website Free

If you’ve set up a separate website for your wedding, we can add an automatic link back to it from each page of your registry, so guests can easily navigate from one to the other and back again. It’s simple and discreet, but communicates the idea that your registry is part of the bigger picture expressed by your wedding website. To set this up, just contact us with the URL of your wedding website and we’ll be happy to take care of it.

Display your registry in multiple languages Free

If you have many guests visiting your site whose first language isn’t English, you may wish to provide the instructions on how to use your registry in more than one language. We have translations of our site text currently available in:

  • French
  • Spanish
  • Dutch
  • Portuguese
  • Italian
  • German
  • Swedish
  • Polish

Let us know what you need and we’ll be happy to set this up for you on your registry.

If you require an additional language from the above, please get in touch to find out more.

Use a second currency with Stripe Free

If you’ve set up card payments through Stripe, transactions on your registry will be conducted in the currency associated with your bank account. But you might want to be able to offer payments in a second currency as well — perhaps if you have family in another country, or if you have a second bank account that you’d also like to use.

We can help set this up so that your honeymoon fund works perfectly for your own individual situation. Contact us to talk it through.

Gift payments through PayPal.Me Free

We can now offer gift payments through PayPal.Me, an alternative way to send and receive money in your PayPal account that’s usually exempt from PayPal’s normal processing fees. However, we’re unable to track payments made through this, and any guests making payment this way will need to already have a PayPal account of their own, or to create one as part of their payment to you.

PayPal.Me might nonetheless be a useful additional payment method for some couples. Simply contact us if you’d like to set this up.

Include a second date in our registry search Free

Your guests can find your wedding registry by searching on your either your or your partner’s name, together with your wedding date, on our homepage. But what if your wedding celebration is taking place on a different date from your actual ceremony? Which date do you choose?

No problem — just let us know both dates, and we’ll make sure your registry can be found by searching on either of them.

Reply to guests Free

When one of your guests reserves a gift from your registry, we send you a notification message by email. If you hit “reply” to this, your email is sent to us, not to your guest. This is so that you can easily raise any queries with us — and so that any queries you do raise aren’t sent to your guests by mistake.

However, sometimes couples like to respond individually to guests as gifts come in. We’re always happy to pass on any messages for your guests that are sent to us, but alternatively we can set your registry so that replies to our gift notification emails go directly to the guest who reserved the gift. If this sounds like it would be useful to you, just let us know and we’ll be more than happy to arrange that for you.

Online-only payments Free

If you’ve added online payments to your registry, we nonetheless provide guests with an option to make alternative arrangements to pay for their gifts. This is useful if a guest without access to the Internet calls us to make a reservation from your registry on their behalf, or if they’d prefer to send you a check instead of paying online.

But it’s no problem if you’d prefer to make sure all payments on your honeymoon fund are made online. If you’d like us to remove the option for guests to make alternative payment arrangements, please let us know.

Turn off gift certificates Free

As well as notifying you by email of any gifts that are made through your registry, we also provide guests with a Gift Certificate they can print out and slip into a card to give you on the day of your wedding. This can help reassure guests that you’re aware of what they’ve reserved for you — but what if you’d prefer not to receive these? No problem: just get in touch and we can switch this feature off for your registry.

Keep your registry open for longer Free

Normally, your registry closes one month after your wedding date, after which time it’s still visible, but no further gifts can be reserved.

We’re happy to extend this, however, for as long as you wish. Just let us know when you’d like your registry to close, and we’ll make sure it’s still available right until then.
