Last week, we came across a story on the Etiquette Hell blog, of traditional wedding presents, passive-aggressive giving, and bad manners on Facebook. The story, and the comments that follow it, reminded us of some of the reasons we created Buy Our Honeymoon, and the differences between services like ours, traditional gift registries, and simple gifts of cash.

We’re really thrilled to be exhibiting again at this year’s National Wedding Show at Earls Court! It’s been a couple of years since the last time we had a stand at the show — and ever since then, we’ve been looking forward to coming back!

On Twitter yesterday, the brilliant @ConfessionOfB2B asked when the right time to start compiling your wedding gift list might be. This got us thinking: generally speaking, how far in advance of their wedding day do couples using our service create their list?

If there’s one thing we don’t like to do here at Buy Our Honeymoon, it’s sit still. We’re always making small changes and improvements to the site, even if it’s just to the systems we use internally to help us with customer or guest enquiries. Sometimes, we add a larger feature you can use when putting together your wedding list or customising your registry pages, other times it’s a minor tweak that doesn’t demand a blog post to announce it.
